NEWS RELEASE

BCCA encourages ALC to Maintain a Strong Commitment to Agriculture

Kamloops, B.C. – The BC Cattlemen’s Association (BCCA) encourages the Agricultural Land Commission to continue its commitment to agriculture under new ALC Chair, Frank Leonard.

The Agriculture Land Commission has been the governing body for agriculture lands in British Columbia since 1974. Ranchers and farmers across B.C. depend on a strong ALC to guide and monitor use on lands under the Agriculture Land Reserve.

“BCCA had a strong working relationship with ALC Chair Richard Bullock and we appreciated his exemplary commitment to agriculture. We look forward to continuing that relationship with Mr. Leonard and we are optimistic that the ALC will continue to have the same interest and commitment in preserving our agricultural lands for food production going forward,” said Kevin Boon, BCCA General Manager.

BCCA’s foremost goal is to ensure that today’s ranching families can create a sustainable future in agriculture for generations to come.
